On sunny days, all Dubliners know where to go: Howth. This old fishing village may be small, but it boasts incredible natural beauty. And since it's part of the DART (suburban train) system, the journey from the city center takes no more than 30 minutes.

If you're visiting on the weekend, you have to check out Howth Market. Located right in front of the station, the market offers a wide variety of organic products, clothing, souvenirs, antiques, and food. Our recommendation? Try the traditional fish and vegetable soup, called chowder, made by Brazilian chef Edmar.

Edmar has been living in Ireland since 2004 and has been running Tram Chowder since 2007. He also sells calamari, fish and chips, prawns, and even coxinha, but the chowder is his specialty. His customers, including many locals, say he makes the best in town – and we couldn't agree more.
