In the upscale Príncipe Real neighborhood stands the Palacete Ribeiro da Cunha, a Neo-Arabic building from the late 19th century. Initially owned by politician José Ribeiro da Cunha, the palace changed owners and functions several times over the decades, even serving as the headquarters of the Universidade Nova de Lisboa until 2005. However, since September 2013, it has been transformed into a unique commercial space called Embaixada.

Inside the palace's rooms, you’ll find various shops focused on gastronomy, design, fashion, and crafts. The items sold are from local producers, and many pieces have a distinctly Portuguese touch, such as furniture and accessories made of cork. The shops also have a unique concept and are beautifully decorated.

Even if you’re not planning to shop, you can still enjoy the Embaixada. Since entry is free, you can explore and admire the incredible interior of the palace. On the upper floor, there is also a small art exhibition featuring works by new Portuguese artists.
