You’ve probably heard of Mercado da Ribeira in Cais do Sodré. Well, Mercado de Campo de Ourique is like an unbranded version of it—cheaper and less crowded.

While Mercado da Ribeira is packed with tourists, Campo de Ourique offers excellent gastronomy without the stress of long lines. Whether you’re looking for a snack, a full meal, or fresh ingredients, this market is a great choice and is open every day of the week.

As expected in Portugal, there are plenty of delicious options for fresh seafood, as well as meats, vegetables, and desserts. If you’re in the mood for a smaller bite, you can enjoy food from local food trucks and fast-food restaurants.

After a good meal at the market, don’t miss exploring Campo de Ourique. Despite being very central, this Lisbon parish is peaceful and family-friendly, with beautiful parks and houses adorned with stunning tiled façades. Believe me, every corner offers a reason to take a photo.
