In 1844, Tsar Nicholas I issued an order that would change St. Petersburg forever: no building in the then-capital could be taller than the Winter Palace (now part of the Hermitage Museum). As a result, around 205 upper floors were demolished to comply with the new law, which remained in effect even after the 1917 Revolution.

What does this have to do with food? Well… nothing. But St. Petersburg still preserves its beautiful imperial-era skyline. Admiring the city from above is a unique experience—and let’s be honest, it’s even better with something to eat and drink, right?

That’s why we recommend Sky & Wine. Located inside the Palma Mansion, the establishment has a terrace offering panoramic views of St. Petersburg, along with a menu featuring an extensive selection of wines, soups, pizzas, and other dishes.

The prices are reasonable. For instance, a glass of wine starts at ₽450, and a margherita pizza costs ₽690.
