If you take metro line 1 and see a ghost station between Iglesia and Bilbao, don’t be alarmed—you’re not imagining things. That’s just Andén 0, one of Madrid’s first stations, which opened in 1919 and was abandoned in 1966.
Today, the platform is a free museum showcasing original signage, turnstiles, ticket booths, and advertisements from that era. There’s also a small room with a video explaining the origins and development of the Madrid metro.
Visiting hours are on Thursdays (10 AM to 1 PM), Fridays (11 AM to 7 PM), and weekends (11 AM to 3 PM).
