Located in the Universidad neighborhood, Taberna del Mozárabe is a popular spot among Madrid’s students. Of course, the delicious food and excellent service also play a big role in winning over customers.
The beer is cheap and always served ice-cold, accompanied by great free tapas. But if you're feeling hungrier, we recommend ordering a of the delicious “Tigres”—mussels stuffed with béchamel sauce.
Another striking feature of Mozárabe is its tiled décor with Catholic imagery. The name "Mozárabe" refers to the Christians who lived in Al-Andalus (the Iberian Peninsula under Muslim rule from 711 to 1492) and adopted elements of Arabic language and culture while maintaining their Christian faith.
Taberna del Mozárabe is near Noviciado station and is open every day.
